FAQ

Prediction market sites, explained

What is a prediction market site?

A prediction market lets people buy and sell contracts tied to whether a future event happens. Each contract usually pays out a fixed amount if the outcome occurs, so its price can be read as the market’s implied probability.

Are prediction markets the same as sportsbooks?

No. A sportsbook sets the odds and takes the other side of your bet. On a prediction market you typically trade against other participants, prices move with supply and demand, and you can often exit a position before the event resolves. Regulation also differs by platform and country.

How are platforms ordered on this page?

Alphabetically. We do not publish rankings or scores until our evidence-based scoring rubric is documented and applied consistently to every platform.

Why do some details say “Not yet verified”?

We only show a fact once we have confirmed it against official documentation. If we could not confirm something, we say so rather than guess.

Can I use these platforms where I live?

Availability depends on your location and each platform’s terms. Check the platform’s official eligibility rules before signing up, and never use tools such as VPNs to get around regional restrictions.

Have you tested these platforms hands-on?

Not yet. Current reviews are based on desk research of official documentation. Each review states its assessment method and will be updated when hands-on testing is complete.
